Olivia Attwood and Mounjaro Makeovers

You can’t help but notice the amount of skinny people everywhere these days and this programme reports that 1.6m people have admitted to taking GLP1s. I did some research and found a brilliant programme from the series.

Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection

I don’t know if you’ve managed to watch any of the series “The Price of Perfection” which is screened on Channel 4 and also available on ITVx?

If not, the series focusses on Plastic Surgery and the various operations from the real life patient’s perspective and various cosmetic surgery experts in their fields combined with interviews by Olivia asking questions such as why they wants to have their procedure, these interviews are often candid and definitely entertaining, as well as informative!

Here at Reflect Clinic, we are always interested in the latest aesthetic trends as well as checking that they are safe.

A new trend we are seeing is the widespread use of Ozempic, Mounjaro and other GLP1s.

These are available via medical presciption, but also widely available online, where patients simply type in the answers to some questions such as “What is your weight and height?” and sometimes sending in photos of their “before” body.

The first interviewee admitted that she had used AI to increase her “before” size as she was desperate to lose weight and in her words “just thought being skinny will resolve all my problems”.

Safety Issues

Obviously, we are in the very early days of using these drugs and the long-term effects are not yet known.

In the short term, they do come with risks including:

Hair Loss (one lady noticed that her hairline had receded and thinned throughout). We do not know if this hair loss is recoverable after coming off the jabs. In the show Dr Kas said our hair “needs nutrients to survive and hairloss is one of the first signs of malnourishment as the body redirects nutrients around the body to other organs”.

Excess skin – With rapid weight loss, the body simply cannot keep up with the pace of the loss of fat and you are sometimes left with an excess of skin around the tummy, arms and legs.

Breast changes – obviously your breasts are made up of some fatty tissue, so when fat is lost, the breasts will  also lose some of their volume and may sag afterwards.

Skin quality – due to a lack of nutrients, the skin can become thinner and have less elasticity (the ability to twang back to the size it was pre-weight gain).

Unregulated sellers – as the drugs are in their infancy and people are often desperate to lose large amounts of weight quickly, they are vulnerable to cheap offers which may or may not have been tested and contain ingredients that are harmful.

Dosage – Patients may be given dosages that are not suitable for their individual body and size and could be harmful to their health because they may have lied or extended the truth. Companies may bypass the safety checks, in order to maximise their sales and profits.

Post-Jab – Patients have complained that their weight returns very quickly.

Bone density – may be reduced due to a reduction in nutrients.

Skin Laxity – says Dr Saleena Zimri, Aesthetic Doctor “fat is the scaffolding to the face so weight loss often results in hollows around the eyes and face” eg one patient reported a 17 stone total weight loss after using Mounjaro and a loss of 10lb in just one week.

Patient Stories

One patient had gone to Lithuania for her cosmetic surgery which included a 360 tummy tuck, breast uplift and liposuction. She was booking in for her arms and legs next.

Another patient reported that since her weight loss, she had an “Ozempic Vulva” where the fat pads in that personal area had been depleted so much she decided to plump them back up with filler.

She said she “was sold a dream almost”.

Another patient, Lauren says she “never thought about the after” and again thought that “skinny will solve all my problems” and decided to have a ‘Mounjaro Makeover’ which cost her £29,000 and she managed to save up and pay for it with some help from her Mum.

She was looking forward to wearing a bikini at last and her partner had never seen her without her bra. She’d always worn a T-shirt over her swimwear.

Mr Amir, Plastic Surgeon detailed the risks of the cosmetic surgery procedure which included numbness, infection, haematoma.

Lauren’s stomach muscles had disconnected, so he agreed to reconnect them for a more aesthetically pleasing result. In her case, the internal weight gain had pushed her muscles apart. He removed 31lb of skin in total and repositioned her belly button as part of the procedure. He performed the procedure on camera and closed with the line “I think she’s going to be over the moon – the surgery (sic) will completely change her life”.

‘Mounjaro Makeover’ Surgery

Here at Reflect, we agree that after being on such a huge weight loss journey, patients should be congratulated that they had stuck at their programme and eat and drank less in order to reach their goal weight. That is not easy by any means, with our without a ‘skinny jab’.

Patient Feedback

Our patients are often surprised that after they had reached their goal weight, they had further to go to achieve their dream body, because their skin had not caught up with the huge changes and the result was huge amounts of excess saggy skin.

Mr Lambe has had many years’ experience in dealing with full body makeovers and we now provide consultations to find out if you are a good candidate for a ‘Mounjaro Makeover’ and what combination of surgeries you require. We will then give you a full cost of the cosmetic surgery you require so that you can plan the final stages of your huge journey.

Your Consultation

Part of your consultation would be to check that you are a suitable candidate healthwise and also what combination of cosmetic surgery would be suitable for you from a combination of

Breast surgery – a breast augmentation, a breast reduction or a breast uplift or a combination

Tummy – if you have diastasi recti – where parts of your stomach muscles disconnect and separate, Mr Lambe can reconnect these for you.

Liposuction – even after such huge weightloss, you may have fat deposits remaining in areas such as your arms or thighs, Mr Lambe can identify these areas and can suck out the fat to give you the silhouette you wish for.

Armlift – Patients often complain of their underarms being very saggy, but we can help by cutting off the excess skin (much like tailoring) and sewing up new streamlined arms.

Leglift – Thighs can also sag after weight loss, so Mr Lambe can again cut off the excess skin which results in more streamlined thighs, so trousers are more comfortable and fit you better.

Cost of Mounjaro

One patient in the show reported a massive 17 stone total weight loss after using Mounjaro and a loss of 10lb in just one week.

The cost online at the time of going to press is £300 per 4 rounds of treatment, so £1200 for the first lot.

Mounjaro Makeover Review

“I have had several procedures with Mr Lambe and can highly recommend his team. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process. The after care is second to none and will be returning in the very near future.”
