Cheshire Festival
We like to promote our local area of Cheshire as we’re very proud to live and work here. This time we were lucky enough to be invited to the Press Launch of The Britfest, which is now an annual event held in July at Ashley Showground in Ashley Road in Hale, Cheshire.
The picture above is of Jenny Powell , Adele Reid (Director of ABC+ Warranty and past sponsor) and myself Joanna.
It is the brainchild of brothers Anthony and Edward (Ant and Ed to their friends) Prophet who decided to combine their marketing skills and many years of contacts in the music industry to put on the biggest and best festival that Cheshire has ever known. They are now in their fourth year!
Announcement
Excitement was in the air, as popstars from the 80s were amongst the crowd waiting with baited breath to find out who they would be performing next Summer.
We saw Nathan Moore of Brother Beyond and Clive from Dr and the Medics who is literally THE Spirit in the Sky (well he is the tallest one!)
There was a bit of rain last year so we ended up in one of the VIP tents where Nathan was performing to the crowd and really got the crowd engaged and the women swooning! So we are looking forward to seeing him again next year.
The Run Down
Thursday night has been hailed Ibiza night, and this year Symphonic are on. Not sure if you’ve ever seen them, but it’s a great production and if it’s anything like last year, it will be electric!
We were blessed with sunshine and it really was just like being in Ibiza but a bit easier to get home.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Heaven 17, Haircut 100 who was on my wall many times in the 80s (Nick Heywood) and The Brand New Heavies too.

She’s always so kind to us and gave Gerard a shout out as she calls him “my breast surgeon”. I know she won’t mind me saying this, she had her breast implant exchange procedure with us, after I met her on the football pitch watching our daughters!
It was great to know that she was happy post breast surgery, and I was with her along the journey, as I met her on the pitch every Saturday watching our daughters play football for Altrincham FC Juniors. Polly was fast and got snapped up by Stoke and alas Rosanna after a fantastic season (scoring 5 goals in one match) got an injury and had to stop playing. They were halcyon days, however, I digress!

You may even spot Mr Lambe with his band Weird Science @WeirdScience on instagram who have been known to play in the VIP tent and on a couple of stages over the years, in fact, it is their claim to fame that they were the very first act to play at the very first festival!
